On the afternoon of March 8, which coincided with the International Women's Day, our college held a grand opening ceremony for international students. Mr Li Zhong, Deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of the college, Mr Wang Wei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and Mr Zheng Chengzhi, vice President of the college, and leaders from the college Executive Office, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Student Affairs, the School of E-commerce, the School of Information and Artificial Intelligence, the School of International Business and Tourism, teachers' representatives and all international students attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr Zheng Chengzhi.

Mr. Li Zhong first delivered a speech. He extended warm welcome and sincere greetings to the international students from Morocco, Bangladesh, Thailand and Tajikistan who came to our college to pursue their study. He briefly introduced the history and current situation of the college and the achievements of the college's internationalization level in recent years and sent congratulations to the 3 international students of our college who have achieved good results in the first World Vocational College Skills Competition. In his message, Mr Li Zhong encouraged them to become virtuous, diligent, thoughtful and happy people, hoping that they would earnestly study cultural knowledge and become friendly envoys of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

Mz Xing Jing, the teacher representative, said that the teachers have made sufficient preparations and will devote themselves to the teaching of international students with a more spirit and dedication, and hope to work with international students to face the next phase of their life together with confidence, courage and perseverance, and achieve better results.

Mz Liu Liyang, a representative of international students from Thailand, thanked the school for providing them with valuable opportunities to study. She said that she had made many new friends and had a lot of fresh experiences here. She would make good use of her time here to improve her Chinese and professional knowledge and skills. At the speech, students from Bangladesh put on a wonderful talent show which include guitar playing and singing, traditional song chorus and other programs. The whole venue was filled with singing and the atmosphere was quite cheerful.

After the talent show, Mr Wang Wei presented the award certificate and bonus to Sadnan from Bangladesh and Liu Liyang and Luo Meijuan from Thailand for participating in the first World Vocational College Skills Competition. Mr Wang Zhengfa, member of the Party Committee and director of the Executive Office, presented souvenirs to the representatives of the international students.

The opening ceremony is the beginning of life studying abroad, and it is also an important step for the internationalization of our college. Our college will continue to put in good efforts in the education of international students and promote the internationalization of the college.
